i'm glad to be back in singapore(: i'm glad to be around friends, i'm glad to be busy, and i'm glad that..aiya i'm just quite glad.

today's service was very fulfilling, i'm glad to be able to serve in the worship team again! and i found (although i missed part of it) the SS class to be very enriching too. what else. ohman, i've lost all sense of blogtalk. it's like. i'm just mumbling my day. ahhhhh.

ohoh, pet peeve: you know the feeling you get when you've got something stuck between your molars, but you can't get it out? aRGHGHHHH. okay.

4 more hours till the new year smacks me on the side of my head and leaves me unconcious or dead.

this vacation so far has been wonderful, spending time with family and friends, shopping, exercising, playing Rock Band 2 and Top Spin (woohoo) and just messing around with the guitar. thoroughly enjoyable and hecka tiring.

new year's eve has been most eventful. well, not really, but eventful nonetheless. my bros and i had an evening cycle which took us 1.5 hours. as much as it killed me (my legs, lungs, heart and ability to stand), i wouldn't have had it any other way(:. coasting past miles and miles, the wind in my hair, the screeching of noisy brakes, the sheer beauty of looking at Upland from above. spectacular. breathtaking (both figuratively and literally).

as for reflections, i better get to it before someone starts nagging at me again. nagger.

this year has been a year of...events. it's been a year that God has shown himself as the listening ear, and the speaking mouth, the provider and comforter, the heart of passion and the teacher.
He's been my greatest joy and stuggle. To love Him wholeheartedly and to be able to give up my life, has been and still is so very difficult, but to experience the freedom of being....well, free of the fight of a losing battle, because earthly life was never meant to be perfect. the feeling is...amazing.

i'm thankful to God for experieces, be it good or bad. the discussion of...whether there are memories we'd rather forget, or whether they're all memorable was brought up by a friend. and much thought, i guess, every memory shapes us to who we are today, without it, there would be learning experiences where we've chosen not to accept. hm. i'm rambling

i'm thankful for being able to study another year overseas, despite the ever depessing global economic prospect. i'm grateful for being able to enjoy Australia's rich music scene, which is by far exponentially better than Singapore's. i'm grateful for friends who came to visit me, to spend time with me, chilling, singing, laughing, sleeping. i'm grateful for friends who've supported me from Singapore. i'm grateful for laughs, cheer and happiness which brought me through hard times. i'm grateful for tears, sadness and moments of sheer heartache, to remind me that we're all just human.

i'm thankful for the opportunity that God has given me to serve fellow brothers and sisters as a bible study leader in uni. the opportunity to serve it the worship team in church. i'm grateful for His Word, which continues to fuel me in love and in awe. i'm so very thankful for MYC, which once again has taught me that..well, i pretty much know nothing about this God who loves me. i'm grateful for being able to serve in VBS, which has definitely been a big highlight for me.

things i've learnt:
i've learnt patience. waiting is such a pain. but, sometimes, things are worth waiting for(:
i've learnt how essential God's Word is to live a life that's pleasing to God, and how crucial it is to maintaining a relationship with Him
i've learnt the importance of reliance on God, because when we struggle against life ourselves, we'll most undoubtably fail.
etcetc. i can't think of anything now.

Happy New Year(:. i'll have to think of resolutions.

btw. during the evening ride, which started becoming pitch black whilst we cycled past looming hills, i was afraid of getting mauled by coyotes. .-.

not exactly sure what this post will be about. i'm currently sitting in my eldest bro's quite posh house. the previous owner's done so much to it before they sold it off. like, top of the line stove, refridgerator, dishwasher, wine cooler in the kitchen, top of the line bbq pit in the backyard, sound systems all over (this is my favourite part.). it's amazing how big the house is!!! i love it(:. seeing my niece for the first time last week, and she's so precious. what else. oh, my nephew, is the handsomest little boy in our family. looks more korean than chinese actually, and he's able to charm himself out of any trouble. sheesh. troublemaker. pictures will be posted soon.

oh btw, all this has been written on my new Macbook!(: i would've gotten a tablet..but...Windows Vista belongs in a septic tank. ahh. such a pretty lappy. don't know what i should name her yet.

i've been suffering from jetlag ever since getting here. sleeping at 9pm and waking up at 4am. i'm just not motivated to get over the jetlag? and maybe 'cause that's the only time i can spend online to talk to people without getting nagged by my parents(:. sigh.

christmas is tomorrow, but i've already gotten a semi-christmas present. i don't know what to make of it yet, but it'll definitely take more thinking and talking [edit:AND PRAYING]..to see where it goes.

Today i was attacked with the "jeeblies" (shaky hands and clamminess) and a great sense of...insecurity. The feeling of "life is out of my hands" and "plans gone...not quite the way i planned" were also playing on my mind, making me feel..rubbish. (also caused me a tummyache).

Questioning my sensitivity to certain issues whilst trying to warm up (how in the world am i cold on such a warm day?!), i began to pray, and also remembering that God has sovereignty over every aspect of my life. So what to do? i guess to trust and obey, and to remember that, true, things are not in my control, but they're in control of someone much more sensible than me, and that everything will happen, will happen, and that's all i can ask for.

Semi-thought of the day: to love someone, is to help/let them grow and be as God desires them to be. hm.

Tim has been an excellent houseguest for the past few days. for those who don't know, he came last fri and is staying till next monday. much fun has ensued. for photos of what happened, please visit his blog, of which 90% of the photos posted were taken by me!! rahh. anyway. my guitar broke down. some wire came out from inside the guitar. gotta send it for repairs. [sad]. Tim just had a mixed kebab (chicken and beef) and now is sleeping, whilst i type up my post. just a little add on, we saw birds in our backyard this morning! so pretty! ahhh.

So anyway. i had a short talk with a friend just a while earlier. about the way i treat people. and that friend pointed out that i treat different friends...well...differently. and for some friends, i'm more...touchy feely (like, hugs and whatnot) whereas others i'm more..cool with. and it got me thinking. and so far what i've come up with is that there are different ways to show people that one cares. for example, i'm a physical contact person, thus, the easiest way to show someone cares is a hug. in other cases, it's gentle bantering or a nice "how was your day" thing. and in some cases....tis better to refrain from hugs and all..because..sometimes your emotions bleed out with a touch(:. wah. that sounds quite emo. BUT IT'S NOT. okay. that was my thought of the day. uni starts on monday too):

Today's the first day since the 2 day tourney at bathurst (yay Stampede II). twas fun and reallyreally good learning grounds. Champagne Suufa Nova came in 3rd for the main comp (but we won the Spirit Award!) and our mixed hat team, It Takes 2 to Tango, came in 2nd.

So anyway, saturday was as cold as heck, like, some people's hands turned blue. i couldn't feel my hands and feet till i had a hot shower at the end of the day (the hot shower was totally awesome). and i got smacked in the head. lucky i was so cold my head was numb and all i felt was the field spinning around me for a sec. no pain! yay. and the guy treated me to a beer after. and i was falling asleep at the bar. so people came up to me and thought i was drunk (i was just sleeeeping =\)

Knee's slightly achey, but either than that, i'm surprisingly fine. Tonight's league. hope i can play well! will post pictures up of stuff ASAP.

been requested to post. i guess i should(:. had my first ultimate tourney of the year on sat! came in fourth, left me with a shot left foot (can't weight bear) and a shot knee (it's always been shot). on the bright side, i woke up the next day at 89kg, first time i've been below 90 in a year. anyway. first team got melted Paddle pops for their prize. we lost to third place because of a rigged scissors-paper-stone match. and the first team was STACKED. but. kudos to Suufa 3 for being awesome (partly/mostly because i was there (:). what else what else. oh yes. NEW BOOTS. asics summore. twas 150, then 50 dollars off, then 25% off. effectively 50% off(:. very happy with my buy. however, it has left me no budget to buy meat.

bible study training went well, did a mock bible study and got quite good critiques(: i've been labelled to be very negative about myself. hm. i think i suffer from low self esteem. how?

by the way disc golf is so fun. especially if you have to wade through a pond full of duck poop 10pm in the night to retrieve the disc =\.

righto. had ultimate this morning, played with UTS and i SUCKED. like. ok la. they weren't noob, so it was hard to break off from them when doing a cut ):. and i was disoriented and stuff. so. ya. i was like, the noob there.

slowly going back to guitar, but not as hardcore as before. whatelsehasbeen going on. oh ya. Coogee beach is super comfortable to slack at. like, lie in the sand, and i'm not exactly a beach person, but it was really really..slack.

on another note, i'm leading bible study tomorrow. 2 Tim 3. hope it goes well.

my cursed brain is so chocked full of stuff, it's currently suffering a bottleneck effect.

body aches, blister on foot. but i feel great(: it's a cold morning today (windy, chilly) and it's supercomfortable to snuggle up in bed. however, i'm up. and it feels good to be up too(:. ultimate frisbee was good yesterday. lots of running. and after ultimate i felt like running a bit more. had jap for dinner (the salmon slices were so small!) and then went to a pub to play pool. got bored pretty quickly, so i went home. but i was full blown tired. went to bed without turning off the lights or anything. then woke up at 4am. chatted for like, 1 min, and the went back to sleep (turned off the lights this time) can't wait for the easter break.

despite feeling great, i do remember that today's Good Friday, in rememberance of Jesus Christ dying for all of our sins. and the fact that He did not come to the world to condemn, but to save. it's a simple message i know, but it does make me think a bit, of how i've been "honouring" Him. and just mourning His death. but at the same time, keeping in mind that 3 days later He rose, triumphant of death. so today i'll spend most of my morning contemplating my mourning.

Hills Hoist II '07 folks! the most fun i've had in ages (:. The first ulti tourney i've been to =D. let's recount the day. woke up at like 6.30 packed everything and left for Parra. Got picked up and went to castle hill. threw the disc around for a while, then the comp started. it basically was 5 matches, each consisting of 45mins of gameplay. I think i did alright for the first 3 matches, where i assisted like...3 points and scored 2-3, which makes me pretty happy:] i did quite a bit of cutting which i was proud of and learned some tactical stuff too. then came lunch break where we had sandwiches of which one of the pieces of lettuce had a slug on it. hm. noone ate that. but i could start feeling a cramp coming up. didn't think it'd be serious tho. that's where i was wrong and just when the semi-finals started, both my quads cramped up, basically making me useless for the semis. and the fact our team only had one sub made things preeetty bad. but our team was heckastrong and won. then we had the finals. by then i had drunk 3 bottles of gatorade to electrolyte myself. after which i become a sloshy panda. but it's alright. i was pretty put off by then 'cause both my legs were still aching from the cramps):. felt pretty useless. ohwells. we won in the end tho:]

i dreamt i was like a secret agent
and i stayed in this apartment
and there was this old lady in this apartment
who kept on talking to me in like vietnamese
so i couldn't understand a word she's saying
then one day i was walking out of the building to meet my partner
who was a black guy
and the lady was following me and talking to me
then i met my partner
and the lady was still following me
and she was still talking to me, like, softly
then when we were exiting the building
my partner (who was black and apparently understood vietnamese) said
"i think you should run"
so then i started running
then the old lady exploded
apparently
the old lady, for the time i was staying in her apartment,
she was actually saying "one day i'm going to kill you"
then when i was walking out she was saying "you're going to die now"

then i woke up.

so yeah OKGo concert was awesome. the lead singer came into the audience a lot which was cool, and the band did an acoustic set right in the MIDDLE of the audience where they did "A Million Ways" with like, a xylophone or sth, and then they got some of the audience to hold big torch lights to shine on them =D twas fun.

as i sit here listen to Jack Johnson playing some chill, with a carton of applemangojuice on my left and a neurosci textbook on my right, i just wonder how much we've changed over the last 18 (pushing 19) years of our lives. even 5 yrs ago, could you imagine being where you are now, doing the things you've done? watching people come and go, be it just from our vision or form the world. and have you ever tried to stay in the past? do you even remember those from the past? what i mean to say is....i miss MY Y4. whilst i sit in my jammies and my relatively fluffy slippers in this australian winter, i wonder if you guys remember me at all. =\. for starters saying hi to me would be nice. asking how i've been would b a bonus. blah. enough ranting.

an explosion of great sights, sounds and the intertwining of some of the world's best musicians (in my opinion). john mayer. the man who shreds guitars with such grace, i salute you. starting his lineup with Belief, then NO SUCH THING (WOOHOO), after which he went into a JM3 song, Good Love is On the Way, and so many other great hits. was singing like crazy. the best artiste in the WORLD. so worth it.

oh. and there was a guy named Ben Kweller who started the show. he wasn't important. :]
